BOOK REVIEW OF 'POKHRAN'

Author : Uday Singh

Genre : Fiction

No of Pages : 232

Publisher : Srishti publishers

🖋 As the title suggests, the story takes place in a place named Pokhran, located in Jaipur. Pokhran is a place where 'Smiling Budha' nuclear test was performed successfully in 1974, which was proud initiative to all Indians.

🖋 Never ever I was fascinated by scientific experiment contents. But the initial phase of the story, where info about 'Smiling Budha' project caught my attention well.

I thought the story line will be continued that way. But contradictory to the cover of the book, it took me to the village story of Chaithanya's childhood. His Didi, Papa, Devyani, Grandma, Samarjit. I just loved all those characters.

🖋 Defying my prejudgements, after all those epic experiences Chaithu faced, the story line shifts to Chaithu's abroad life where I loved New characters like Zara, Robin & Krishna.

🖋 The problems that Yazidis faces all over the world is described empathetically.

🖋 The novel never failed in evoking patriotic feelings in one's heart.

🖋 How beautifully the author portrays emotions like love, revenge, valour throughout the book!

🖋 How disabled people are treated so well in developed countries, what should be the approach of the society and dear one's to a disabled person, all these are well explained in this book.

Delighted to read the debut book of Uday Singh.
I never felt like I'm reading the book of a debut writer.

Its a highly recommended book worth reading!!
